I have experienced plenty of heartbreaks and failed relationships. The only love that remained faithful to me all this years is my passionate love towards cooking and eating it out-Food. We are together ever since.
Two weeks ago, i watched a movie and i honestly did not expect a humble story line as such would imply a great impact on me. Nothing stupendous, its a story of a man and a woman, passionate about food and cooking, from a different walks of life, united over their passion. Food.
I believe, food is aa emotion carrier. What you feel for the day is usually channeled through what you decide to sink your teeth in for the day. Ultimately, its a one of a kind of relief that your mind seeks. One of the reflection is through taste buds-Food again.
Just a thought to share with, recently i have underwent a loads of disappointment and frustrations form work and personal relationship. To the extent where, i was so empty, i was literally lifeless. Fell into depression and it was bad. One evening while heading home, a colleague of mine suggested, "don't think too much la, bake a cake and you will be fine la!". Well, no harm trying right? So i baked mini chocolate lave cup cakes over the weekend. Somehow i felt that "chocolate lava cake" expresses of what i have been going through lately. Honestly, seeing the outcome and the baby cakes with gooey chocolate center, i never felt any better or alive. Critics loved it (family and friends) and i don't think ill ever find a emotion pacifier anything better then this.
I seriously salute men who can cook. Not many men i have known are passionate about food. (eating yes) but being intimate in the whole preparation process, i have never met any one, personally of course. For me, that is real man. "Real man cooks and appreciates food" (Besides wearing pink). My token of appreciation for all great men cooks out there! It takes a lot to embrace something as simple and complex as "food". Salute!!
I think that is for now, ranted too much i think. Just to kautim my usual posting flow.
If you folks can relate to what i have vented above, cheers to you! If you cant, well too bad your missing the indulgence of one of the best pleasures in life. Hey, its food...when it captivates your heart, it knows no good souls or evil ones!
