Roti Ayam Yau Kee, Kampar. (Stuffed Curried Chicken Bun)
Mike, i tell you this...
Im born, raised, hardcore Kuala Lumpur meenachi. I certainly can't and i mean it, i can't leave without the hustle bustle Kuala Lumpur that packs punch of total materialism and adrenalin rush.
However, two weeks ago my friends and i traveled back to one of my buddies hometown, Bukit Mertajam.
It was a good trip ad heading back to Kuala Lumpur, we made a short stop at Kampar town. I was not enthusiastic at all of this stop. Well, i was restless and all i wanted to do is hit Jalan Duta highway and assure myself that im "HOME".
Entering Kampar town at 8.00pm, i was a little worried. Damn! The town was literally a dead ghost town.
Yet wasn't still enthusiastic about the whole detour. My friends stopped for some to search for some souvenirs items and alas, even that shop was closed. While we driving and wondered what to do next, a big maroonish signboard sticking to the side of an old shop lot attracted our attention..... "Restoran Roti Ayam Yau Kee", which was also mentioned by one of my other friend about its existence and highlight in Kampar.
We decided to check this joint out.
When we arrived, there were couple of friendly old timer there, sipping their cina teh and chatting waya happily about life (presumption only).
We were told that there was variety of chicken curry, lamb curry and beef curry to choose from. Prices differ according to choice.
We opted for this;
One massive portion i tell you.
This Amoi was not very happy of me asking her questions every 3 minutes
Soft buttery bread roll hiding a spicy and delicious treasure in its bloated stomach.
Slightly to the sweeter note curry, flaky and tender chicken meat was indeed a good stuff. Dunking the soft pillowy bread into the sauce and swallowing whole without even having to chew. Darn! Mouthgasm it was. I I was less skeptical thereafter. Food is the next best pleasure after sex na? 7/10
The portion was super huge that we had packed the remaining of our devouring. We also shared a small plate of siew mai. The whole meal inclusive of the siew mai and three chine tea cost up to RM 38.00. Which, also fed other mouths back in Kuala Lumpur (woof-woof).
Kampar town was kind enough to me and this was indeed an experience. I was told that they do have a outlet back in Petaling Jaya. Im happy with this experience.
Ciou for now peeps?! My eyes are closing by itself.
Shout out loud to meyour food journey, i would love to hear them out.
