Nasi Kunyit Abang-Abang

Seriously i don't know the names of this abang-abang's vendoring nasi kunyit (Tumeric Fried Rice) near my office place. Or their enterprise name, Na da i don't know.
.
I call it Nasi Kunyit Abang-Abang simply because there are few dudes involved in the food prep "department" and accompanied by two Indonesian lady helpers. They are usually here on Thursdays and Fridays of the week and trust me by 2pm, they are done. Done as in empty, finish and just plain done!

I have been a diligent customers of theirs for few months now and trust me, this is the only joint where i stand patiently in a que to get my weekly orgasmic fix. There will be usually a LooooooonG before you can even reach the ordering counter but that que moves quite considerably fast, well fast enough for me to stand and wait under blistering sunny day or drizzly days.

Today, the tutup kedai was by 1.10pm (My lunch hour is from 1-2pm) and everything was sold out. There was just enough to cover a rather noise lady quieng behind me.  Probably they were sold out or they were afraid of DBKL  raid. I don't know, either way. A box of it with rice and stir fried chicken strips costs RM 5.00.
If your a big food monster like me, probably you might want to opt for "ayam tambah", RM 1.00 and drench it with "cap ayam kecap manis" and top it of with a small dollop of the fiery red chilli sambal that gives you an after effect of a raunchy sex. What....? Im just saying you know. Anyway, if you require another scoop of rice to go with it. That will be another RM 1.00.

There you go.....for me, that's for lunch today.  6/10

So folks,  if you guys happened to pass by Jalan Tun Razak on a Thursday or a Friday. Stop and grab this please. Delicious and affordable and i bet you of my last cookie crumble. Its good, seriously. Try it and let me know okay?

Humble Chef Food Truck

So, some of my homies asked why not blog about law? Why not blog about something thats useful to the nation? Why not bring changes to the society and just WHY NOT?
Well, you know, i was doing all that before (2012) and i realize there is too many of lawyer," burok wayangs" and  "lawyer buroks" to defend the nations. So i have decided to let them be and parler avec emphase about FOOD!

The very first entree of mine for today will be on "The Humble Chef" Food Truck. Not the cafe but the food truck located along Pusat Damansara, not so opposite of the Mcdonalds around the corner. Im sure many  of you all heard and probably a regularlite in this joint. Seemingly said, it is probably the pioneer of food caravaning in Kayel. I was told that if your looking for western fare in its cheapest and best quality, seek this joint.
One day after work and coaxed by impromptu dinner decision for the day, we (me and my buddies) resorted to trying this joint out. Reaching closer to the food truck, we noticed that there was a seriously long que awaiting near the ordering counter (well, duh, that's where ques usually stay stagnant na?). So, we joined the que and waited. Meanwhile, we got another a friend of ours to scout a table to sit and i tell you, getting a table to sit was a miracle. People were eagle eyeing the very next spot available and that is how my partner in crimes aka buddy got a spot for us. I also noticed that, most of the customers queuing alongside with us are students and that did make us feel a lil old.

Waiting close to fifteen minutes to reach the ordering counter, we finally did. We were greeted by this ghetto looking dude taking our orders. So this was what was in the menu:-
1. Spaghetti-pesto and carbonara
2. Pita Wrap
3. Cheese omellete

You can choose either a chicken or lamb base for the pasta sauce and the pita bread. The omelette shall be stuffed with mushroom and tomato (yes, we didn't order that).
Placing our orders and paying for our meal (RM 15.00 + 2.50 for a pepsi and chrysanthemum tea) we joined out other buddy and waited for our meal.
Let me tell you, i'm an impatient fledgling when it comes to food and we ended up waiting for 45 minutes for our food to arrive. My two other buddies  made a quick detour stop at Mcd across the road for an "appetizer"
appetizer
The Appetizer
Gobbling it up, we waited and we waited and waited. Finally it reached us......finally!!
Pasta Carbonara Lamb
Pasta Carbonara Lamb
Cheesy and greasy it was. Bland in seasoning and there was a fowl after taste in the lamb. The lamb portion was too little and there was puddle of runny sauce coating the pasta. 3/10
Pasta Pesto-Lamb
Flavour wise, slightly better then the carbonara sauce yet again this too was coated in heavy olive oil drenching and slightly burnt pesto sauce. Meat was skimpy like actress Shakila's dressing. 4/10 #justsaying.
Pita Bread-Chicken
Pita Bread-Chicken
Hollow emptiness with fingertips countable chicken strips stuffed in it. Heavy on the cream dressing and seriously bland. 2/10
This is was my experience with The Humble Chef Food Truck.
In my humblest opinion, there is a lot of improvement that has too be addressed in this joint. Yes, it was cheap indeed and in the ratio of RM 50.00 budget of my food encounters for three of us, thus far this was indeed amazingly affordable. Moreover, we did spend on Mcd which was not in our plan.  However, flavour wise, service and waiting time has to be tremendously improved. We will not patronize this joint again but i suppose the experience differs accordingly.
The cost for this meal was altogether RM37.50 for three of us. I would say it was affordable indeed minusing the Mcd detour.
So, wanna feel the adrenalin eating above LDP highway under the moonlight, why not try.........

So i was told that food is the best next pleasure after sex and i couldn't agree less on this. Hey, just saying..
Myself? A  regular, Malaysian bachelorettes with abnormal appetite, loves eating in and eating out. Basically food maniac, born and raised in Kuala Lumpur. Still raising too. height and weight wise.
Thus, behold the birth of KLFoodini!
My aim here is to share with the world at large the pleasures i have indulged in scouting out delicious and affordable local (Malaysian joints) food that doesn't burn any holes in my pocket. Oh, maybe become a food blogger promoting Malaysian foodeptimology. (Sounds fancy eh) and maybe as famous as some super slim babes that fvlog's too.
